As of this week, most states have announced reopening plans or criteria. President Trump’s 3-phased approach calls for governors to evaluate data around new cases, covid-like symptoms, and hospital capacity before deciding how to proceed.

The governors, it’s in their hands, but our country wants to open,” Trump said before leaving Washington, again pushing responsibility to the states for how to safely reopen even as the virus continues to spread.

Native Americans have been hit very hard by the Coronavirus pandemic, and we will do everything possible to support and protect their communities in this time of need. Today, President Trump brought rapid-result Abbott Coronavirus tests to the Navajo Nation.
President Trump signed a presidential proclamation in Arizona that declared May 5, 2020, as Missing and Murdered American Indians And Alaska Natives Awareness Day.

Navajo Nation leaders say indigenous women have suffered a disproportionate amount of domestic violence, murder and sexual assault crimes.

The Trump Administration launched Operation Lady Justice last year to give tribal nations resources to combat violence against women

President Trump is speaking after touring Honeywell’s Phoenix facility that’s producing up to 20 million protective masks a month.Honeywell makes America proud!

For too many years, Washington let our independence be outsourced to foreign countries. We’re taking back American manufacturing. We care where our supplies are made, and we want them made in the United States. The men and women at Honeywell are writing the next chapter of the American story! We mourn every life lost. We pray for each victim. And America shoulders this burden together, as one family.

“In normal times, it would take nine months to stand up one facility like this. But Honeywell has built this in less than five weeks.”Our historic industrial mobilization is not only saving American lives—it’s helping other countries and building a stockpile for the future.

Honeywell is shifting production at its Phoenix facility to create millions of N95 personal protection masks. The company is hoping to produce more than 20 million disposable respirators every month for the state and the government.

N95 respirators are effective at filtering airborne particles and liquid from reaching the wearer, according to the FDA. COVID-19 is primarily communicated from close person-to-person contact.

PPE has been in severe demand across the country since the Strategic National Stockpile was depleted.
